Iron Deficiency Anemia

Anemia caused by inadequate iron stores, leading to reduced hemoglobin production and impaired oxygen transport. Common causes include chronic blood loss (GI bleeding, menstruation), poor dietary intake, or malabsorption. Symptoms include fatigue, weakness, pale skin, shortness of breath, dizziness, cold hands and feet, brittle nails, and unusual cravings (pica).
